Verse of the Day: 1Samuel 2:2

There is none holy as the Lord: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God.

The truth is written.  Let us live in complete faith, knowing and believing that God is our rock and a very present help in time of need.

Let us pray

Dear Jesus

We thank you for being there for us even though we do not deserve it.  Help us to remember that no matter what happens in our lives you are always there for us.  Continue to hold our hand and lead us forward to everlasting life.  In Jesus name, Amen

Healthy Eating: Golden Beet Salad with Shallots, Parsley, and Orange Miso Dressing

for the salad:
3-4 medium golden beets
10 small shallots
1 cup uncooked rainbow quinoa
1.5 cups vegetable broth
2 small seedless navel oranges, segmented and chopped (see note)
1/2 cup minced fresh parsley
handful finely chopped pistachios, for garnish (optional)
Orange Miso Dressing: (makes: ~1/3 cup)
1/3 cup orange juice
1 tbsp toasted sesame oil (or olive oil)
1-2 tbsp light miso dressing (I used 2 tbsp chickpea miso), to taste
1 medium garlic clove, peeled
1/2 tsp minced fresh ginger
1/2 tsp cane sugar (or maple syrup), or to taste
1. Preheat oven to 375F and line a dutch oven or heavy-bottomed pot with a piece of parchment paper.
2. Trim beet greens, leaving 2-3 inches of the stem on the beet (this prevents the beet from drying out while roasting). Note: If you buy loose beets without stems this is fine too. Use what you can find. Reserve beet greens for sautéing, if desired. Wash beets, but do not peel them.
3. Place beets inside the pot. Drizzle on olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Roll around the beets to coat.
4. Soak shallots in a bowl of water for a few minutes. This helps to loosen the skin. Slice both ends off the shallots and then peel all the skin off each. Place a piece of tin foil on the counter (about 1 square foot) and place the shallots on top. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with sea salt and pepper. Rub the shallots to combine. Gather the tin foil at each side and crinkle it upward to seal the top. Place shallots in the pot along with the beets.
5. Place lid on pot and roast beets and shallots for about 1 hour at 375F.
6. Meanwhile, cook the quinoa. Rinse the quinoa in a fine-mesh strainer and place it into a pot along with 1.5 cups of vegetable broth. Bring to a low boil, reduce heat to low-medium, and cover with tight fitting lid. Simmer for 17-20 minutes covered, or until all the water is absorbed. Remove from heat and let stand for 5 minutes. Fluff with fork.
7. Prepare the dressing by processing together all the dressing ingredients. I like to use a mini processor for my dressings because the clean-up is minimal. You could also whisk everything together by hand too.
8. After 1 hour, remove pot from the oven to check on things. Remove the shallots and set aside on the counter (keep the tin foil on so they stay warm). Carefully, prick the largest beet with a fork. If it slides easily through, it’s ready. If your fork feels resistance, it needs more time in the oven. I had to cook my beets for about 1 hour and 25 minutes, so don’t be alarmed if it takes you more time.
9. Remove beets from oven, remove lid, and allow beets to cool until they can be handled. Trim both ends of the beet and discard. Run water over beets and peel the skin off with your fingers (the skin should slide off fairly easily) and then slice beets into bite-sized pieces for the salad.
10. To assemble the salad: Toss together the cooked quinoa, chopped parsley, Herbamare or sea salt, and a couple tablespoons of the dressing. Gently fold in the shallots, segmented oranges, and beets. Drizzle on the rest of the dressing, sprinkle on pistachios (optional), and serve immediately.

Verse of the Day: Isaiah 53:5-6 - He was wounded for us

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Let us always remember that Jesus died for our sins, he was battered beaten and bruised & bared the cross for us.  So many of us have strayed from the teachings of the Lord  and seem to have lost our way.  Jesus died so that we might be saved, let us pray that we are saved in God's kingdom so that the sacrifice Jesus made will not be in vain.

Let us pray

Dear Jesus

We thank you for dying on the cross to save us from our sins, help us to remember that it was not some sort of fairytale but a true to life story.  Help us to realize that we would not be here if it wasn't for the sacrifice you made for us.  Lord we humbly ask for your forgiveness of our sins, help us this day to be renewed in you, help us to commit to your word & your will, starting right now.  Lord we need peace, understanding and a clear mind.  In Jesus Name. Amen

Verse of the Day: Romans 5:1 - Faith Justified

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

Once we've accepted God as our Saviour  we should be completely dedicated to him.  Our Faith should be stronger, and our deeds and actions should be of the likeness of Christ.  We will be more at peace and all our worries and cares will seem insignificant.  Let us pray that our faith in Christ remains strong.

Let us pray

Dear Jesus

Thank you for your love and for dying on the cross to save us from our sins.  We pray today that you will renew our faith in you.  Help us to see how much easier our lives will be once we surrender to you completely.  Help us to be steadfast and strong in you.  In Jesus name, Amen

Verse of the Day: Proverbs 1:1-8 - Learn, Understand & Gain Wisdom

 The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel;
To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;
To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;
To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.
A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:
To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:

Giving instruction to others is good, but it is also good to receive instruction & to learn from your elders.  Sometimes we think we know it all and think we can teach others a thing or too, but if we don't follow the right instructions we may be headed for trouble.  Let's ask God to help us in our daily lives that we will listen to instruction, understand it so that we may be wise in the Lord.

 Let us Pray

Dear Jesus

Thank you for giving us life & a mind to think,  help us to realize that without you we are nothing.  Help us to realize that with you we can do anything.  Help us also to realize that we need to understand what it means to humble ourselves & learn. Help us to be wiser in you! In Jesus name, Amen

Ephesians 6:7-8- Doing Good Service

With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:
Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.

Ever do something good and expect praise from the one you've done the good deed?  If you don't receive any praise or accolades you feel as if this person wasn't grateful.  We need to realize that when we do good it should be wholeheartedly for God He is the one that will reward you for your good deed.  We need to stop looking towards man for praises and start praising God for the blessings he's bestowed on us.

Let us pray

Dear Jesus

We thank you for your love and for your grace.  We are grateful that you have rewarded us for our good deeds.  Help us to realize that you are taking notes and that every good we do is tallied up and will be presented to us on judgement day.  Guide us through our journey in life so that we may continue to do good deeds, not for worldly gain but for spiritual gain and a spot in the heavenly kingdom.  In Jesus Name, Amen

Verse of the Day: 2 Timothy 3:16 - His Word & Prayer

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

We know that God's word is truth. Let us begin to read His word thoroughly, We should ask for guidance when reading his word so that God will help us understand it.  Reading the bible should not be a rushed thing, take the time to pray first and read just like you would do when studying for an exam.  Let's pray that we not rush the reading of God's word but that we take time to understand it so that we may in turn teach other.

Let us pray

Dear Jesus

Thank you for your word of salvation.  We are grateful that you have given us the Bible so that we may seek out the truth.  Help us to read carefully & with understanding, help us to not rush your word and to seek you first prior to reading.  You have placed many wonderful words for us in the Bible and we thank you for that.  In Jesus Name, Amen

Verse of the day: Matthew 24:13-14- His Coming

But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Believe it or not this world will not last long and the reality is God will be coming to take the righteous home with Him.  We tip toe around this subject far too often but the signs are there, we feel it and see it around us.  Let's do our part in speeding up the process of God's coming by telling others about His word.  Let us also follow his word, so that we too may be saved in His Kingdom.  I encourage you to read up on Matthew 24.

Let us pray

Dear Jesus

We thank you for the life you have given us.  We understand your coming is very near, help us to be ready to meet you when the trumpets sound.  We thank you for your promises of salvation and for even allowing us the option to be spared from destruction.  Lord give us strength to overcome temptation and to stand strong in you.  In Jesus Name, Amen

Verse of the Day: Genesis 1:29 - Eating what God intended for us to eat

And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food.

God intended for man to eat the fruits of the earth.  There was and still is enough fruits & vegetable options on this earth to satisfy us.  Daniel and the three Hebrews only ate fruits, vegetables & grain and they were the wisest and strongest of all.  Time and time again eating right has been proven to keep us healthy and strong, let's not yield to the food temptations of this world.  Let's pray for strength and willpower to say no to unhealthy foods.

Let us pray

Dear Jesus

Thank you for providing healthy foods for us to eat.  Help us to follow your will for us by eating the fruits and veges you intended for us to eat.  Help us to know that in the process of becoming wise in you, we need to partake of the foods you created for us.  Thank you for loving us and for giving us chance after chance, help us to finally see the light.  in Jesus Name, Amen

Healthy Eating: Vegan & Gluten-Free Vanilla Blueberry Buckwheat Pancakes

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup raw buckwheat groats (not kasha), ground into a flour
  • 1/4 cup brown rice flour
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 cup + 2 tbsp almond milk
  • 2 tbsp pure maple syrup (or other liquid sweetener)
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 medium ripe banana, diced
  • 1 vanilla bean, scraped (optional)
  • 1/2 cup blueberries (optional)

1. Preheat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat.
2. In a blender, blend the buckwheat groats on high speed until a fine flour forms. Place into a large bowl. Now whisk in the rest of the dry ingredients (rice flour, cornstarch, baking powder).
3. Pour in the almond milk, maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Whisk the batter until no clumps remain.
4. Fold in the diced banana and scraped vanilla bean. If using fresh blueberries, mix them in now.
5. Lightly grease skillet. Scoop 1/4 cup of batter onto the preheated skillet. If using frozen blueberries, sprinkle on a heaping tablespoon of blueberries. Cook until many bubbles appear and then flip and cook for another couple minutes. Repeat for the other pancakes.
Note: If using frozen blueberries, pour batter onto skillet first and then top with blueberries to prevent bleeding. I also tried subbing the rice flour for oat flour and the pancakes completely stuck to the pan, so I would advise against that substitution.

Verse of the day: Ephesians 6:10-11-Be strong in the Lord

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

So many times we fall, so many times we fail in life.  It shouldn't be this hard right?  And it doesn't have to be.  Once we are entirely covered in Christ we can then stand up to anything, trials, tribulations will not be able to get the best of us.  Let us pray for strength to stand against the devil.  Let us pray for strength in the Lord.

Let us pray

Dear Jesus

You are almighty and we are grateful.  You are our strength and our shield.  Help us to remember that all we need in this life is you, that every trial and tribulation will be insignificant to us because you are our protector and redeemer and you will always see us through.. Help us Lord to always hide ourselves in you.  Thank you In Jesus name, Amen

Verse of the Day: Isaiah 1:16-17- Cease doing evil

16 Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;
17 Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.

Only with God's help can we rid ourselves of evil.  The Devil will continue to tempt, torture and tantalize us with sin.  We must be strong enough to realize this and seek God to help us overcome, then will the Lord help us to do well in our lives, in turn creating a good life for ourselves and helping others around us.

Let us pray

Dear Jesus

You are almighty and we thank you.  We pray today for your help in ridding ourselves of evil doings.  Help us Lord to seek you first above all else and to resist the Devil.  Thank you for your love and grace.  We pray in Jesus Name, Amen

Verse of the Day: Psalms 139:1-4 He knows you!

O lord, thou hast searched me, and known me.
Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.
Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.
For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether.

God knows us, when we feel no one else understands us, when we can't get the right words out of our mouth.  He knows what were going to say, he understands our feelings and our thoughts.  Why not build a relationship with Him as He should be your closest and dearest friend.  He'll help you  through your darkest our, when things aren't going the way it should.  He'll step in front of you and lead the way.  He's your ambassador and He'll be there for you.  So let's pray for Him to continue to be there, let's pray that we accept Him and let him work for us because he knows us so well.

Let us pray

Dear Jesus

Thank you for loving me.  When no one else is there for me, you are, and we are grateful.  Help us to realize that we have you as our friend and that you understand us better than anyone else.  Show us how we can  leave all our worries and problems at your feet.  You are our rock and salvation and we love you, In Jesus Name, Amen

James 3:2-Offending Others

For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.

We are far from perfect and we all make mistakes.  Sometimes we may not even realize that our words may offend others, and of course we are not mind readers so we may not even know what their thinking or feeling.  But God knows how to help us and if we don't turn to him we may not be able to realize just how wrong we are.  Let us pray to God asking him to show us when we are wrong, let us ask him to help us not to offend our brothers & sisters but to speak words of kindness and love.

Let us pray

Dear Jesus we thank you for your Love.  Show us how to love our fellow brothers & sisters.  Help us to watch what we say to others and even behind their backs.  We want to live like you and for you. So guide our words deeds and actions that they only be of you.  We thank you, In Jesus name, Amen

Healthy Eating: How to bake a healthier cupcake

Blueberry Cupcakes

The “secret ingredient” in these coconut-infused blueberry cupcakes—mashed potatoes—gives the cake great texture, almost like pound cake. The fluffy frosting is just fun. Because it’s low in calories and fat, you can spread or pipe a generous amount on top of each cupcake to make them look extra festive. The frosting stiffens as it stands, so be sure to put it on the cupcakes right after you make it.
12 cupcakes | Active Time: 45 minutes | Total Time: 2 1/4 hours (including cooling time)

Ingredients

Cupcakes

  • 1 large Yukon Gold potato, peeled and cut into small chunks
  • 3/4 cup whole-wheat pastry flour (see Note)
  • 3/4 cup cake flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup canola oil
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon coconut extract or vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup nonfat buttermilk (see Tip)
  • 1 cup blueberries, fresh or frozen (thawed and drained), plus fresh blueberries for garnish

Frosting

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 4 teaspoons dried egg whites (see Note), reconstituted according to package directions (equivalent to 2 egg whites)
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2-3 tablespoons blueberry preserves or jam
  • 1/4 teaspoon coconut extract or vanilla extract

Preparation

  1. To prepare cupcakes: Preheat oven to 350°F. Line 12 (1/2-cup) muffin cups with paper liners.
  2. Place potato in a saucepan, add water to cover and bring to a boil. Cook until tender, 8 to 10 minutes. Drain and mash until very smooth. Measure out 3/4 cup and let cool slightly. (You may have some potato left over.)
  3. Whisk whole-wheat flour, cake flour, baking powder, baking soda and 1/2 teaspoon salt in a medium bowl.
  4. Beat granulated sugar and oil in a large mixing bowl with an electric mixer on medium speed until combined. Beat in egg, 1/2 teaspoon extract and the 3/4 cup mashed potatoes until combined. With the mixer on low, alternately mix in the dry ingredients and buttermilk, starting and ending with dry ingredients and scraping the sides of the bowl as needed, until just combined. Fold in 1 cup blueberries. Divide the batter among the prepared cups (they will be full).
  5. Bake the cupcakes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, 22 to 24 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack and let cool completely.
  6. To prepare frosting: Once the cupcakes are cool, bring 2 inches of water to a simmer in the bottom of a double boiler (see Tip). Combine 3/4 cup granulated sugar and 3 tablespoons water in the top of the double boiler. Place over the simmering water and heat, stirring, until the sugar is melted, 2 to 3 minutes. Start beating the mixture with an electric mixer on high speed; add reconstituted egg whites, cream of tartar and a pinch of salt. Continue beating until the mixture looks like a glossy, thick frosting, 5 to 7 minutes. Off the heat, beat for 1 minute more to cool. Add 2 tablespoons (or more, depending on desired color) blueberry preserves (or jam) and 1/4 teaspoon extract and beat on low just to combine. Spread or pipe the frosting on the cooled cupcakes and decorate with fresh blueberries on top, if desired.

Tips & Notes

  • Make Ahead Tip: Store unfrosted cupcakes airtight at room temperature for up to 1 day. | Equipment: Muffin tin with 12 (1/2-cup) cups, paper liners
  • Ingredient Notes: Look for whole-wheat pastry flour in the natural-foods section of large supermarkets and natural-foods stores. Store in the freezer.
  • Pasteurized dried egg whites are a wise choice in recipes that call for uncooked egg whites. Look for brands like Just Whites in the baking or natural-foods section of most supermarkets.
  • Tips: No buttermilk? You can make “sour milk” as a substitute: mix 1 1/2 teaspoons lemon juice or vinegar to 1/2 cup nonfat milk.
  • To improvise a double boiler, bring 2 inches of water to a simmer in a large saucepan, set a medium or large metal bowl over the simmering water. Allow at least an inch between the water and the bottom of the bowl. SOURCE

Verse of the Day: Proverbs 23:6-7-Flee from evil suitors

Eat thou not the bread of him that hath an evil eye, neither desire thou his dainty meats:
For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.

In keeping with living under God's plan we should always take head to his warnings and his instructions.  There are so many deceitful people in this world, and it is important that we recognize them and stay away.  Some may come as wolves in sheep's clothing but God will reveal them to us if we are willing to see.   Let us pray for clarity and a strong enough backbone to see the evil and run.

Let us Pray

Dear Jesus

Thank you for your grace and love and for showing us the way to you.  Today we pray that you will open our eyes to see the evil around us, sometimes even right under our noses.  Help us to not be tempted to be around the evil, because it is masked in false goodness.  Thank you for your light and and for the plan of salvation, In Jesus Name, Amen

Verse of the Day: Jonah 1:3-4- You can run but you can't hide!

But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the Lord, and went down to Joppa; and he found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into it, to go with them unto Tarshish from the presence of the Lord.
But the Lord sent out a great wind into the sea, and there was a mighty tempest in the sea, so that the ship was like to be broken.

We need to realize that we cannot hide from God.  He sees and he knows everything, and he will find you wherever you are.  It doesn't make sense dabbling in things that are not of Him, In the end God will find you and will lead you back towards him, all you need to do is listen to his calling.  Let us pray for courage today.

Let us pray

Dear Jesus

We are grateful for life and strength,  We ask today Lord for Courage, Courage to stand up to the devil and say "No, you will not get the best of me".  Courage to know when we have sinned and to own up to it.   Courage to stand strong and to realize that you will take care of us and we do not need to run, hide or be afraid.  Help us to listen to your voice and to heed your warnings when we encounter evil.  In Jesus name, Amen

Verse of the Day: Romans 8:28- All things work together for Good

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Ever wonder why things aren't working out for you in your life?  When all seems to be going wrong turn your eyes towards Jesus, He will work it out for you.  Love Him, decide that you want to start your journey with him and he will take care of the rest.  Let us pray for strength and a closer walk with God.

Dear Jesus

Thank you for your love.  Help us to love you more.  We understand now that we need to seek you first so that we may have order and peace in our lives.  Please give us the strength and the knowledge we need to worship you daily, study your word & follow you.  You are our light and salvation and we praise you.  In Jesus name, Amen

Verse of the Day: Galatians 6:7-9- You reap what you Sow

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

If we continue to be self centered instead of selfless we will gain nothing in this world.  God gave us life so that we may do well, so that we may use our abilities to help others.  It is important that we use the talents God has given us for good.  Let us pray today that God will enter our lives and that we may rid ourselves of being vain and selfish. Let us also pray that we will sow good seeds in our lives- surrounding ourselves with positivity and God's word so that our reward will be eternal life.

Let us pray

Dear Jesus

Thank you for giving us life and for giving us talents.  Please help us to realize that our greatest accomplishments in life are not doing for ourselves but doing for others.  In our daily walk with you, help us to realize that we need to sow good seeds in our lives; surrounding ourselves with positivity and being selfless. Thank you for your love, In Jesus Name, Amen

Verse of the Day: Nahum 1:7- He knoweth those who trust Him

The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.

We should be true testimonies of the goodness of the Lord.  He has brought us through so much, when we call upon him He is always there, when we trust him, he is glad.  Let us pray that we continue to have full trust in God and that we will always remember to call on him.

Let us pray

Dear Jesus

Thank you for your goodness.  Help us to always trust in you, and to seek you above all else.  Lord, you are our strength and redeemer and there is none like you.  Help us to remember that and live our lives daily for you.  In Jesus name, Amen

Friday 8 March 2013

Verse of the Day: Psalms 136:1- Forget about everything else & give thanks!

O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

Today, let's focus our energy on the positive and give thanks. Let's forget about self and give thanks.  Let's keep our chatter only about giving thanks.  Let's stop our complaining, whining, gossiping & negativity and focus on positivity in Christ and give thanks for all he has done.

Let us pray

Dear Jesus

We thank you! We thank you! We praise your name and are eternally grateful for everything you have done for us.  Although we are not worthy, you somehow found it in your heart to forgive us of all the wrong we have done and so, we are thankful. We praise your name and give you thanks.  In Jesus name, Amen

Verse of the Day: Psalms 139:23-24 - Lead Me Lord

Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Psalm 139:23-24 KJV

God is the only one that can lead us to him.  Today, lets pray for His guidance and to blot out the sins in our hearts so that we may not do evil.

Dear Jesus

Thank you for forgiveness and everlasting love.  We pray today that you will search our hearts and if there is any evil or wickedness, to remove it permanently.  We want to be more like you and to reach that everlasting kingdom, so please lead the way to that path.  We are eternally grateful to you.  In Jesus Name, Amen

Wednesday 6 March 2013

Verse of the day: 1 Samuel 3:9 - Obeying His Call

Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, Lord; for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place.

Many of us are called to do the work of the Lord just like Samuel was.  But so many of us ignore His calling.  Let us pray that we are obedient and that we will listen to God's voice when He calls us to do His work.  Let us pray for the faith we need to trust that God knows what's best and the strength we need to listen to him and follow his instructions.  We are all placed on this earth for a short while so let us do the best we can to obey God's call.

Let us pray

Dear Jesus

You are worthy to be praised.  We are thankful that you even chose us to do your will.  So many people don't have the opportunity to even be able to get up and speak.  You have given us life, health, strength and an abundance of other things we are not even worthy of.  Help us to just fall on our knees when you call and to listen to your instructions. In Jesus Name, Amen

Tuesday 5 March 2013

Verse of the Day; Isaiah 40:31- Wait on the Lord

31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

So many times we go against want God wants for us and rush into things, only to realize that what we wanted failed to help us or to make us happy.  Sometimes we rushed too fast without seeking the Lord first.  There are many things we want out of life, but some things whether it be good or bad, may not be what the Lord wants for us.  He sees the future and He sees that what may satisfy us in the short term may be devastating for us in the long term.  Let us pray to God and ask him to show us what is best for us.  He may say yes, maybe, wait or no.  Let's leave all the decision making to God & wait for his answer.

Let us Pray

Dear Jesus

Thank you for your Love and your promise of salvation.  Lord, we are very grateful for life, health & strength.  We seek you out now Lord asking for your help in giving us the strength we need to resist the temptation of being impatient.  Lord, help us to realize that you alone know what's best for us and that if you see that something is not right for us, that we should trust that you know what is best.  You always have a better plan for us, so help us to put our whole faith and trust in you and not depend on our own decisions for our lives.  In Jesus name, Amen

Monday 4 March 2013

Verse of the Day: Joshua 1:9 - God is with you wherever you go

Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

In all that we do, let us remember to trust that God will see us through.  Having complete faith in him and being courageous is what God wants from us. Let us pray for strength, courage & fearlessness.

Verse of the Day: Psalm 73:25-26- Turn to Jesus

Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.

When all else fails and when there is no one to turn to when you are in distress, remember there is one who will stick with you closer than any brother.  Jesus will always be there and will strengthen you when you are weak.  Let us pray that we will always remember this.

Let us Pray

Dear Jesus

We thank you for your love and for always standing by our side.  Lord, we ask today that you will give us the strength we need to overcome the trials and tribulations that we may be facing.  Help us to remember that we should not cling to man and to expect anything from them.  Help us to remember that all expectations and hope should be on you and you alone.  Thank you for your grace and mercy, In Jesus name, Amen

Healthy Eating: Grilled Kale Salad

Grilled Kale Salad with Beets, Figs, and Ricotta (serves 4 as a first course, 2 as a hearty main dish)
  • 4 small golden beets, peeled and cut into wedges
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 Tbs. balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tsp. maple syrup
  • one bunch of dinosaur (lacinto) kale (or green kale), bottoms of the stems removed
  • 12 fresh figs, black mission or Turkish brown figs, stemmed and halved
  • 1 generous cup of fresh ricotta
  • salt and pepper
  1. Preheat your oven to 425F.  Toss the beet wedges with 1 Tbs. olive oil and sprinkle them with salt.  Spread them in a baking dish and roast, stirring occasionally, until tender, 20-20 minutes.
  2. Whisk together 2 Tbs. olive oil together with the balsamic vinegar and the maple syrup.  When the beets come out of the oven, toss them with the dressing.
  3. Heat your grill and coat the kale with the remaining olive oil and a good sprinkling of salt.  Spread the leaves out on the grill and cook them, turning each over once, until they have developed crispy edges and charred splotches, several minutes.  Transfer the kale to a cutting board, remove the tough center stems if you wish (I don’t bother, but it definitely means more chewing), and chop it coarsely.
  4. Put a spoonful of ricotta on each salad plate, then divide the kale between the plates.  Divide the beets between the salads, and drizzle some of the dressing that is leftover from the beets over each of the salads.  Finally, divide the figs between the salads, dollop the remaining ricotta over the salads, sprinkle each with salt and pepper, and serve.   SOURCE

Verse of the Day: Proverbs 31:31- Fear the Lord & Be Praised

Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.
31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

Let us be strong in Christ and focus on what is important so that our works will be praised.  It is so easy to be consumed by self.  But if we have the right aspirations and fear God at all times, all of the work that we put in daily will not be in vain.  Let us ask God to help us to live daily through him only and to fear him.

Let us pray

Dear Jesus

Thank you for your power and omnipotence!  We humbly seek you now Lord, we would like to be connected to you in every way possible.  Show us how we can live a life filled with you. Successful & strong and fearing you.  In Jesus name, Amen

Verse of the Day: Job 1:20-21- Praise Him in the good and the bad

20 Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped, 21 And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.

After all the pain and heartache Job suffered his faith and trust did not waver in the Lord.  Let us remember that we should still praise God, in the good times and the bad times.

Let us pray

Lord you are merciful and kind and we are grateful for all you have given us.  Lord help us to be grateful to you even when things are not going our way.  Help us to praise you in the good and the bad. In Jesus name, Amen

Verse of the Day: Mark 8:36 - Don't lose your soul to the world

For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

Everyday we strive to be more successful, to be richer than we were the year before, to have the finest clothes, cars and to be more educated.  Nothing is wrong with reaching for the best,  we are God's children and He would expect nothing less of us, it's in our nature.  But He would not be proud of us if we kept reaching for the best and pushing Him further down our #1 list.   Let us remember in our daily drive in doing our best, that we always put God first.  A humble man that may not have the drive others have, but prays without ceasing, reads God's word daily and listens to his voice, may have a better chance of getting to heaven than the one that incessantly strives to do his best and leaves very little time for God.  Let us pray for balance in our lives that we will learn to put God first and continue to seek Him as we also strive for excellence.

Let us pray

Dear Lord

We love you and we are grateful that you have spared our lives.  We ask today for your blessing upon us.  We need you Lord now more than ever.  We ask Lord that you will help balance our lives.  Help us not to rush prayers, or to rush reading your word, but help us to take our time to understand your word and to listen to your voice.  As we prepare for your coming, help us to realize that you are the one giving us the drive and that we should use it wisely. Help us not to lose ourselves to the world but to lose ourselves in you.  Keep us all safe from harm and danger and our eyes fixed towards you In Jesus Name, Amen

Monday 25 February 2013

Verse of the Day: 1 John 1:9- Confess your Sins & Don't Look Back

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

God sees and knows your sins, you may try to hide them from those around you but they are never hidden from Him.  All you need to do to wipe your sin slate clean is to come clean to God.  Genuinely ask him to forgive you from your sins.  If you are repentant then God will forgive, he will not dwell on your mistakes and neither should you.  Remember your slate is clean, you have another chance to start over, don't dwell on your past mistakes.  Let us pray for the courage to not look back but to move forward once we've asked God to forgive us.

Let us Pray

Dear Jesus

You are almighty and we praise your name, we thank you for that word called forgiveness.  We thank you that you can forgive us when we do wrong and that we have another chance at doing what is right.  We are so grateful to you! We ask today that you will give us the strength we need to keep our eyes and our minds forward and to not look back on our past mistakes.  Lord you are almighty and omnipotent and we thank you.  In Jesus Name, Amen

Verse of the Day: Jeremiah 29:11-13- Got Plans for the future? Seek God first!

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

It's as simple as that really.  We need to realize that the only way to truly prosper and be fully satisfied in life is to simply turn to God for guidance.  He sees all the plans we are making and the busy lifestyle we lead as we try to get these plans into fruition.  He shakes his head at us because he can see the road blocks up ahead and all because we didn't seek Him first.  Let us pray for guidance and strength from the Lord and let us remember that everything we do we should always seek Him first.

Let us Pray

Dear Jesus

We thank you for looking out for us even though we barely blink at you.  Help us Lord to realize that all we need to do to prosper is to turn to you.  You have the answers to all of our questions, Your grace & your love is genuine, so help us to realize this and to seek you first in all things.    We are grateful to you Lord, In Jesus Name, Amen

Healthy Eating: Antioxidants

Verse of the Day: 2 Corinthians 9:7- A Cheerful Giver

Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

As we give to those who need it the most.  Let us remember to give from our heart and with love, not only because God says to, but because we genuinely want to.  Let us pray that as we help those who need help (and even those who think they don't), that we give happily, only hoping and praying the best for our receivers.

Let us Pray

Dear Jesus

We are ever grateful for your kindness and the truth of your word.  Help us today that we will follow your scriptures thoroughly.  You say to give cheerfully to others, so help us to do just that.  Help us to thirst only for you Lord and to be loving and kind to those around us.  Give us strength and a good heart.  In Jesus name, Amen

Verse of the Day: 1 Corinthians15:1-4 - He Died for our Sins

Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Today, let us ask God to for the right frame of mind to understand the bible and to carry His word in our hearts and mind daily. It's a struggle, but we need to remember that Jesus died for our sins and he is counting on us to remember that and to follow in his ways so His sacrifice will not be in vain.

Let us pray

Dear Jesus

We are so grateful that you gave us a chance in this life by dying on the cross to save us from our sins. Lord we know we are living in the last days and that your coming is eminent, help us to understand your words and to hide them in our hearts and minds so that we will not sin against you.  Help us to preach your word to those of the world and not to ignore the voice that speaks truth to us.  Thank you for your love and grace In Jesus name, Amen

Tuesday 19 February 2013

Verse of the Day: 2 Timothy 1:7- Riding ourselves of fear

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

It can very difficult to overcome fear,  it's like an automatic feeling when something doesn't feel right.  But with God's help we can eliminate that fear and live in power, love and a sound mind.  Let us pray today that God take away that fear so that we may live in peace and of a sound mind.

Let us pray

Dear Jesus

We thank you for your love and for your power.  We pray today that you will help us to face our fears head on and say " you will not overcome me anymore".   Lord give us strength to do this and the courage we need to resist the tempter.  You are almighty and we praise you.  In Jesus name, Amen

Monday 18 February 2013

Verse of the Day: Romans 8:38-39

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Let us strive to continue to love Christ as he has loved us.  Let us pray that nothing will separate us from loving Him.

Let us pray

Dear Jesus

We thank you for your eternal love.  We ask that you will help us to always love you.  Help us not to go astray by worldly things blocking us from that love. Keep us in your care and help us to be eternally grateful for your love and for dying on the cross to save us.  In Jesus name we pray, Amen

Verse of the Day: John 4:24- Worshiping God

God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

Now there are a couple of things that stand out in these couple of Bible verses, spoken by Jesus. First is that He said the TRUE worshipers will worship God in spirit and truth. What does this mean? It means that there are also false worshipers who claim to be Christians, but the way they live and "worship" shows that they are not true followers of Christ. Again, the fact that Christ said that the TRUE worshipers would worship in spirit and truth shows that there would be false worshipers. The second is that He said we MUST worship God in spirit and truth, which shows that any other form of worship is unacceptable. So we need to look at how to worship God and what our worship is like. Is it in accordance with God's Word in the Bible?

Please read the rest of this from this source discussing this bible verse:

Let us Pray:

Dear Jesus

We thank you for your word the Bible.  As we read up on your word and worship you.  We ask that we will only worship you as it is written in your word.  Help us to seek out the truth and to always pray for understanding and truth.  You are our strength and we thank you.  In Jesus name Amen

Verse of the Day: John 13:34-35 Love

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

Let us ask God to help us in our daily lives that we will learn to love others, that we not hold grudges or be selfish but that we give our love to those around us so that they may see Christ through us.

Let us Pray

Dear Jesus

Thank you for that special gift called Love.  Thank you for your love.  We ask that you will help us to be more like you, to aim to love others the way you love us.  Help us to be kind, caring and to rid ourselves of negativity and hate.  You are our strength Lord and we call upon you to see us through.  In Jesus name, Amen

Wednesday 13 February 2013

Verse of the Day: Lamentations 3:15-16

The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.

Silence and meditation is important when seeking Christ. We need to learn to quiet our minds so that we can hear His voice.  Remove the distractions of the world, work & just plain being busy and subject yourself to solitude where it is just you and God.  Let us pray for the patience & faith we need to leave everything behind, come as we are and meditate on God.

Let us Pray

Dear Jesus

We thank you for your blessings and for the hope of your soon coming.  We pray today Lord that you will help us to have faith in you.  We want to be ready for when you come and we would like to meditate more.  We want to hear your voice Lord directing us of our path in this life.  Please teach us how to be patient, how to have faith in you and how to just believe.  Help us to realize that we are nothing without you.  Keep us ever close to you we pray.  In Jesus name, Amen

Tuesday 12 February 2013

Verse of the Day: Isaiah 53:6

We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

In this day and age there are so many distractions to knock us off our path, it could be friends, family, social media, television and so much more. Let us pray for the Lord to guide us back on that path that we strive to follow.

Let us pray

Dear Jesus

We thank you for forgiveness and the opportunity to start a new when we sin.  We ask today Lord that you help us back on that path to righteousness.  Please help us to resist temptation and the things of the world that are not of you.  Lead us to you we pray in Jesus name, Amen

Healthy Eating: Health Benefits of Coconut Oil and Cooking Uses for Coconut Oil

Coconut oil was once a heart-health “don’t” thanks to its 87 percent saturated-fat content. Solid at room temperature, it’s making a comeback in some packaged foods and for cooking and baking. While it may be marketed as helpful for cholesterol levels, some nutrition experts disagree about the health benefits of coconut oil. “Coconut oil contains a mixture of saturated fatty acids, some of which don’t adversely affect cholesterol levels,” says Joy Dubost, Ph.D., R.D., a spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. “But while its predominant saturated fat —lauric acid—does raise beneficial HDL cholesterol, it also raises harmful LDL cholesterol, which can increase the risk of heart disease.” Look for coconut oil, in jars or tubs, near other cooking oils in large supermarkets, in the natural-foods section, or in natural-foods stores. Wondering how to cook with coconut oil? In our healthy coconut-oil recipe for Coconut-Carrot Morning Glory Muffins, we use coconut oil sparingly, in place of butter or other oils.

Verse of the Day: 1 Corinthians 13:4-5

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

As we journey into following after Christ, we begin to realize that there can only be one kind of true love and that is the love that the scripture describes.  Let us ask God to help us to use that kind of love towards others, in our daily lives.

Let us Pray:

Dear Jesus

Thank you for your love, the patient, kind and UN-proud love.  We ask today that you will help us to exercise that same type of love to our family, spouses, friends and even our enemies.  Show us how to love and treat others the way you would want us to.  You are our strength and our redeemer and we thank you.  In Jesus name, Amen

Sunday 10 February 2013

Verse of the Day: Proverbs 31:0

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

Self explanatory.  Let us always strive to fear God and put Him first in our lives.  Let us pray for God to help us along our journey.

Let us Pray:

Dear Jesus

Thank you for your grace and love.  We ask that you will keep us strong both mentally and physically, help us to realize that we are nothing without you and that we should learn to love and fear you and to always put you first.  In Jesus name, Amen

Verse of the Day: Matthew 5:43-45

“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

Let us pray for a kind heart and a positive Godly attitude, an attitude so positive that those who hate and despise you will be changed.

Let us pray:

Dear Jesus

Thank you for loving us. Help us to love our enemies as you love them also.  Keep us strong and help us to have a positive attitude and a kind heart.  As we strive to be more like you, please keep us on the straight path in Jesus name, Amen

Thursday 7 February 2013

Verse of the day: 1Thessalonians 5:1-3

Now, brothers and sisters, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, “Peace and safety,” destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.

God is coming very soon whether we want Him to or not, It's up to us to be ready for Him when he comes.  God says we do not know the day or the hour, But what we do know is that He will be coming unexpectedly and those who do not watch & believe will be caught off guard.  Let us not be one of those who are caught of guard. As we watch for the signs and get ready for his coming, let us pray that we put away all our sinful ways and turn fully to Him.

Let us pray

Dear Jesus

We thank you for your promise that you will be coming soon.  Help us to realize that you put us on this earth to do good.  Help us to do what is right in your sight and to prepare diligently for your coming.  We ask for strength to carry on your work diligently as it is tough out in this world to stay focused.  We give you praise and honor.  In Jesus name Amen

Verse of the day: Luke 6:38

"Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

Sometimes we get so caught up in our everyday lives that we don't stop to consider that we should take a portion of what we have, whether it be food, clothing or money, and donate them to those who need them the most.  God encourages us to give, and rightfully so, He allowed us to have the things we do, so why not give to those who don't?  Let us pray for a giving heart.

Let us pray

Dear Jesus

Thank you for the things you have given to us.  We are so privileged and we are eternally grateful.  Lord today we ask that you will help us to have more of a giving heart.  Help us to realize there are so many people out there who don't have what we do, so help us not to look down on them but to give so that they may benefit.  Thank you Lord for your mercies.  In Jesus name, Amen

Verse of the day: Proverbs 2:10-11

For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.11 Discretion will protect you, and understanding will guard you.

If you turn your hearts and your mind towards God then in turn He will reward you with wisdom and knowledge.  Let us pray for the Lord to guide our hearts and minds towards Him, forsaking all others and following only Him.

Let us pray

Dear Jesus

Thank you for giving  us the power of knowledge and for showing us that all we needed to get that is by following you and your word.  Help us to understand that your love for us is real and that we just need to turn our hearts and our minds fully to you.  In turn, we may partake of all the blessings you have in store for us!  In Jesus name, Amen

Verse of the Day: 2 Corinthians 6:1,2

As God’s co-workers we urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain. For he says,
“In the time of my favor I heard you,
and in the day of salvation I helped you.”[a]
I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.

Verse of the Day: Exodus 16:4

Then the Lord said to Moses, “I will rain down bread from heaven for you. The people are to go out each day and gather enough for that day. In this way I will test them and see whether they will follow my instructions.

God tests us every day, He puts trials throughout the day to see how we handle them.  He wants us to follow his plan.  There are things in life that we are pushing to get accomplished but if God says no or wait we should follow what He says.  Let us not think that we can do it because we feel it is right to do. Let us wait on the Lord to see if He thinks it's right.  Let us always remember to listen to God and let him lead, whether it be a relationship, school, or job decisions we should always remember the best person to listen to is God. Today we pray for faith, faith enough to trust God and to follow His instructions.

Let us Pray

Dear Jesus

We thank you for the trials and tribulations you send our way so that our faith can grow stronger!  We are grateful that you set aside instructions for us to keep us from the enemy. Help us to have enough faith in you to trust your instructions.  Help us not to doubt you because you know what's best for us.  Keep us strong in you.  In Jesus name, Amen

Wednesday 30 January 2013

Verse of the day: 1 Corinthians 15:33

Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.”

Let us remember that although not everyone is perfect.  We should always surround ourselves with those at least aiming to be positive and to live right.  In this day and age we need to rid ourselves of those who carry negative thoughts, have negative actions and who overall leave no room for improvement in their lives.  Let us pray today for strength to rid ourselves of bad company so that our character may stay intact.

Let us pray:

Dear Jesus we thank you for your strength and for the knowledge you give to us.  Please Lord help us to rid our lives of negativity which would include the bad company we may be keeping.   Give us a pure heart and a clear head so that we may not be blinded by the wolves in sheeps clothing.  Lord we trust you know what's best for us, so we ask you to lead the way in our lives.  In Jesus Name, Amen

Tuesday 29 January 2013

Verse of the day: Jeremiah 1:16

"I will pronounce my judgments on my people because of their wickedness in forsaking me,
in burning incense to other gods and in worshiping what their hands have made."

Although the Lord was speaking to Jeremiah about the Northern Kingdom in this chapter.  It shows us that God's wrath is at hand to the wicked.  Let us remember in this day and age.  That the word of the Lord still stands, when God says "Thous shalt not put other God's before me" He has not taken back his commandment.  We as a children of God should follow His word.  Whether it be idols or an addiction, they are considered gods.   Let us pray for an understanding and enlightenment of his scriptures and for obedience to His words.

Let us pray:

Dear Jesus

We thank you for your word.  There are so many messages that we ought to follow, help us to understand your word and to take it seriously.  Help us to realize that we need to serve You only.  Give us a heart for you and help us to release the addictions we have in our lives that are blocking us from serving you.  Thank you for your laws that keep us in order.  In Jesus Name, Amen

Monday 28 January 2013

Verse of the Day: Romans 12:3

Today, Let's ask God for humility and a dose of humbleness..

Let us pray:

Dear Jesus

We thank You for giving us the opportunity to live.  Thank You for the strength to work, provide for ourselves and loved ones and for the many blessings You have so graciously given to us.  We ask today, that You work within us, show us Lord how to be humble in all things, show us how we can exercise good judgement and give us the faith we need to trust in the plans You have for us.  Thank You for Your Grace.  In Jesus Name, Amen

For this command is a lamp,  this teaching is a light, and correction and instruction are the way to life,

Verse of the day: 2 Corinthians 4:4

Our Guest blogger Janel S shared with us this scripture, Thank you Janel:

"The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God."

Let us pray for those who are blinded by the truth, and if you are blinded then there is hope if you are reading this post!  Trust in God and his unfailing love & power He can get past the gods of this age to unblock your heart and clear your mind and eyes, so that you may see Christ in all His Glory.  Let us pray today for a clear vision of Christ.

Let us pray:

Dear Jesus
We thank you for your mercy and your everlasting love, we ask Lord today that you will help us to see Christ as He is.  Help us to see clearly, your vision for us and the path you have cleared for us.  Help us to help those who are blinded by the gods of this age, to see You clearly so that they may believe in the truth.  In Jesus Name, Amen

"Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever. "

Let us pray for a grateful heart.

Verse of the Day: Romans 8:28

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose."

We all know that if you study hard for your test throughout the weeks you'll get a good grade in your exam.  The same theory should be applied to your relationship with God. Study his word, be genuine in prayer & keep close to Him, the results? God will have your back in all things..including an A+ on your finals!  Let's pray for strength and the courage to fully seek out and love God unconditionally.

Let us pray

Dear Jesus

Thank you for your unconditional love in us, Help us to have the strength and courage to leave the world behind and to follow you.  Help us to no longer ignore your call but to say: "Hear I am Lord".  Help us to realize Lord, that all we need to do is to stick close to You and all our troubles will seem insignificant. You are our strength Oh Lord and we are grateful for Your love.  In Jesus name, Amen

Verse of the Day: Deutoronomy 8:3

But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’”

The reality is that we must listen to God.  When that still small voice is speaking to us we should know that God wants us to listen.  We must always live by His word, so let us pray that when God speaks we should listen.

Let us Pray

Thank you Lord for your word and for the gift of salvation, help us to realize that we cannot live alone by bread, but that we should know that life is given to us through you and we must live by your instructions.  Give us Love, Joy, Peace and Happiness and help us to always make you the center of our lives.  In Jesus name, Amen
